เมื่อวันที่ 9-10 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2565 ทีมงาน Bamboosaurus ได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเชิงการศึกษาเพื่อชุมชน ณ “หมู่บ้านป่าซางนาเงิน” จังหวัดเชียงราย ซึ่งเป็นหมู่บ้านของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์อาข่า ตั้งอยู่ใกล้ชายแดนไทย-เมียนมา ชื่อของหมู่บ้านนี้สะท้อนถึงลักษณะภูมิประเทศและทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่มีอยู่ในพื้นที่:
“ป่าซาง”: คำว่า “ซาง” ในภาษาท้องถิ่นหมายถึง “ไผ่” ดังนั้น “ป่าซาง” จึงหมายถึง “ป่าไผ่”
“นาเงิน”: คำว่า “นาเงิน” หมายถึง “ทุ่งนาเงิน” หรือ “ทุ่งนาที่มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์”
ดังนั้น ชื่อ “บ้านป่าซางนาเงิน” จึงหมายถึง “หมู่บ้านที่ตั้งอยู่ในป่าไผ่และทุ่งนาที่อุดมสมบูรณ์” ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงลักษณะภูมิประเทศและทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่มีอยู่ในพื้นที่นี้
กิจกรรมดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการหลักที่มีชื่อว่า “ยุ๊มมาฉ่า…เพื่อพี่น้องชาวอาข่า” โดยมีที่มาจากแนวคิดที่ว่า ในอดีตชุมชนมีการใช้ไผ่อย่างแพร่หลายในการสร้างสิ่งต่าง ๆ เช่น โต๊ะ เก้าอี้ และบ้านเรือน แต่เมื่อมีวัสดุสังเคราะห์สมัยใหม่ที่มีอายุการใช้งานยาวนานกว่าเข้ามา ความรู้ดั้งเดิมเกี่ยวกับการใช้ไม้ไผ่จึงค่อย ๆ เลือนหายไป
ด้วยเหตุที่ชุมชนมีทรัพยากรไผ่อย่างเหลือเฟือ โครงการนี้จึงมีเป้าหมายเพื่อ:
ถ่ายทอดความรู้เกี่ยวกับการยืดอายุการใช้งานของไผ่
สาธิตวิธีการก่อสร้างด้วยไผ่อย่างเหมาะสม
สำรวจประโยชน์อื่น ๆ ที่สามารถต่อยอดจากไผ่ได้
วัตถุประสงค์ของโครงการคือการนำเสนอทางเลือกใหม่ให้แก่ชุมชน ด้วยการรื้อฟื้นการใช้ไผ่ให้กลับมาเป็นวัสดุที่มีคุณค่าอีกครั้ง ช่วยลดค่าใช้จ่าย และลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมเมื่อเทียบกับวัสดุสังเคราะห์
กิจกรรมทั้งหมดยังแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน ได้แก่:
กิจกรรมการก่อสร้าง:
ผู้เข้าร่วมได้มีส่วนร่วมในการก่อสร้างโครงสร้างไผ่ขนาดจริง โดยสาธิตวิธีการก่อสร้างที่เหมาะสมโดยไม่ใช้วัสดุสังเคราะห์ เช่น เหล็กหรือปูนซีเมนต์ ใช้เพียงเครื่องมือช่างพื้นฐาน เช่น มีดและเลื่อย เพื่อเน้นย้ำถึงแนวทางการก่อสร้างที่เป็นธรรมชาติและยั่งยืน
จุดประสงค์และบทสรุป:
การก่อสร้างโครงสร้างไผ่ชั่วคราวเสร็จสิ้นภายในหนึ่งวัน แสดงให้เห็นถึงความคล่องตัวของทีมและศักยภาพของวัสดุไผ่
ผลงานที่สำเร็จนี้สะท้อนถึงความใกล้ชิดระหว่างมนุษย์กับวัสดุธรรมชาติผ่านกิจกรรมนี้ ทีมงานสามารถถ่ายทอดสารสำคัญที่ว่า ไผ่เป็นวัสดุที่มีความหลากหลายในการใช้งาน และสามารถใช้ได้โดยไม่ต้องมีความซับซ้อนเกินจำเป็น ตอบโจทย์ตามความต้องการและความชอบของแต่ละบุคคลได้อย่างลงตัว
On October 9th-10th, 2022, at Pa Sang Na Ngoen Village, Chiang Rai Province, the Bamboosaurus team participated in an educational activity for the community. This village belongs to the Akha ethnic group and is located near the Thai-Myanmar border. The community is rich in bamboo, hence the name Pa Sang Na Ngoen, meaning ‘Silver Bamboo Forest Village.’
The activity was part of the main project named ‘Yumma Cha’ for the Akha people. The project originated from the idea that bamboo was extensively used in the past for various constructions in the community, such as tables, chairs, and houses. However, with the advent of modern synthetic materials with longer lifespans, traditional bamboo knowledge has gradually faded.
Given the abundant bamboo resources in the community, the project aimed to:
Present knowledge on extending the lifespan of bamboo.
Demonstrate proper bamboo construction methods.
Explore further benefits derived from bamboo.
The project aimed to provide an alternative for the community, encouraging cost savings and minimizing environmental impact by reintroducing bamboo as a valuable material compared to synthetic alternatives.
The entire activity was divided into two parts:
Building Activity:
Participants engaged in constructing a life-sized bamboo structure, demonstrating proper construction methods without the use of synthetic materials like steel or cement.
Basic hand tools such as knives and saws were used, emphasizing natural and sustainable building practices.
Purpose and Conclusion:
The construction of the temporary bamboo structure was completed within a single day, showcasing the team’s efficiency and the material’s potential.
The achievement emphasized the closeness between people and natural materials.
Through this activity, the team successfully conveyed the message that bamboo, as a material, can be versatile and used without unnecessary complexity, aligning with individual preferences and needs.
The inauguration of the Pingpai Building, where ‘ping’ signifies ‘lean’ and ‘pai’ denotes ‘bamboo’ in Thai, signifies our connection and dependence on bamboo, mirroring our way of life. This multipurpose building serves as a showcase of village wisdom.
หลังจากจัดเวิร์กช็อปกับชาวบ้านหลายครั้ง เราได้ตั้งเป้าหมายที่ใหญ่ขึ้น โดยเราได้ถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้กับชาวบ้านเกี่ยวกับการทำงานกับแบบจำลองไผ่ เพื่อให้พวกเขาเข้าใจรูปแบบกายภาพของสิ่งปลูกสร้างที่เราออกแบบ พร้อมทั้งถ่ายทอดเทคนิคการถนอมไผ่ให้สามารถนำไปใช้ในการก่อสร้างได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
ไม่เพียงแต่สอนวิธีการแช่ไผ่เท่านั้น เรายังได้ถ่ายทอดความรู้เรื่องเทคนิคการก่อสร้างด้วยไผ่ให้กับชาวบ้านอีกด้วย ในขณะเดียวกันชาวบ้านเองก็ได้แบ่งปัญภูมิปัญญาและประสบการณ์ของพวกเขาให้กับเราอย่างเปิดใจ
จากการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ร่วมกันนี้ เราได้เริ่มต้นการก่อสร้างเคียงข้างวิถีชีวิตของชาวบ้าน ผ่านฤดูกาลที่หลากหลาย ทั้งฤดูฝน ฤดูหนาว และฤดูร้อน
การแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ได้สอนบทเรียนอันมีคุณค่าให้กับเรา และเติมเต็มกระบวนการก่อสร้างให้สมบูรณ์ยิ่งขึ้น โครงสร้างที่เกิดขึ้นจึงไม่ใช่เพียงสิ่งปลูกสร้างธรรมดา หากแต่เป็นผลลัพธ์จากการร่วมแรงร่วมใจของทุกคนที่เกี่ยวข้องในกระบวนการนี้อย่างแท้จริง
After conducting numerous workshops with the villagers, we have set our sights on a larger goal. We have educated them on working with bamboo models, allowing them to comprehend the physical models we’ve designed. Teaching them the techniques of treating bamboo has empowered the villagers to utilize this versatile material in constructing our buildings.
Not only have we instructed them in bamboo treatment, but we’ve also imparted knowledge on bamboo construction techniques. In return, the villagers have graciously shared their wisdom with us. Through this collaborative exchange, we’ve embarked on the journey of building alongside the village’s way of life, enduring various seasons – rain, winter, and summer.
Through the exchange of knowledge and experiences, we have learned invaluable lessons, enriching the building process. The culmination of our efforts results in a structure that reflects the collective contributions of all involved.
